ALBUM COVER – Illustrator Exercise:

Split Toning & Output

Project Description

Instructions

FOR TODAY, finish up your Album Cover and turn it in. This is the project you already started in class. Here is a summary of what we’ve done and what you need to do:

EXERCISE

Follow the instructions in class on how to use the Pen Tool to draw a curved line and a circle. Then convert the circle to a heart using the Pen Tool and Direct Selection Tool. Use the Type on a Path tool to type your name on the bottom curve. Style your text as needed (font, size, etc.)

CREATE YOUR ALBUM COVER

Create an “Album Cover” by using the SYMBOLS palette and find symbols or parts of symbols to decorate your Album Cover. After placing a symbol onto your artboard, be sure to “unlink” it to extract the pieces you need. Use backgrounds, objects or extra type, but make sure you incorporate your name on a curve and the heart.

TURN IT IN

Save your finished work to your network folder (FILE: SAVE AS, then select your network folder).

TO TURN IT IN, save it also to the Trapane hand-in folder using “Save As” and changing the format to a PDF.

WHEN DONE

When you are done, you can go to the Digital Playground and do some of the COLOR games to prepare for the next lesson.
