Roll Four – Event and Photojournalism (100pts)

You should have included on your roll the following:

  • A Public Event (Half of the roll)
  • Capture the essence of the event

PRINTING ASSIGNMENT:

  1. Print a properly exposed test strip of your contact sheet.
  2. Print a properly exposed contact sheet based on your test strip.
  3. Print THREE of your best shots on 8×10 paper: One event shot that sums up the event; Two of your best photojournalism shots.
  4. Include a properly labeled test strip for each Print.

Roll Five – Dramatic Light and Angles (100pts)

You should have included on your roll the following:

  • Dramatic Angles (half of the roll)
  • Dramatic Lighting
  • Half of your shots should include people.

PRINTING ASSIGNMENT:

  1. Digitize your whole roll (use the film scanner after developing). Download your files to your Photography folder on the network.
  2. Using Photoshop, clean up and adjust your photos.
  3. Print THREE 8x10s of your best shots on the Epson Photo Printer.
  4. Print one 8×10 of the same photo (your choice) in the darkroom for comparison.

WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT:

  1. Write up a critique about the lighting and angles of the photos you printed. Describe the light and angles you chose, why you chose them and how you shot it.
  2. Compare and contrast the Digital Print and the Enlarged Print from the darkroom. What are the similarities/differences?

Roll Six – Typology – EXTRA CREDIT (100pts)

You should have included on your roll the following:

  • One subject (topic) of interest.
  • 36 different subjects (items) of that one subject (topic).
  • Same composition in all frames for unity.

PRINTING ASSIGNMENT:

  1. Print a properly exposed test strip of your contact sheet.
  2. Print a properly exposed contact sheet based on your test strip.
  3. Print SIX of your best shots on 5×7 paper.
  4. Mount your cropped 5×7 photos on matboard (provided).

Turning it In

Clip This Sheet, your Prints/Test Strips, Written Critiques and Assignment Sheet together and turn in by the due date. It will be returned to you with a grade for this part.
